AVVINO Rebranding & Site Design
I spent a summer bussing tables for Janine and Tim, loving the food, people and becoming a part of the AVVINO family. I eventually noticed that their online presence could use some modernization to compete with other local establishments in the same category.
What I Did
Social Media Management
My primary goal for their new website was to streamline the way customers could find necessary information about the restaurant (menus, contact info, additional services), and create a more attractive online facing side for a local business that I am proud to be involved with.
Janine laid out her vision of the restaurant's overarching theme and intended "vibe," as well as the story behind the AVVINO name. I used Squarespace to build out the website, allowing me to hand full control to the client after the project was complete.
Search Engine Optimization
After the redesign, I ported the new website to their existing domain name, managing DNS and ensuring a smooth transition from one host to another.
After indexing the site via Google Search Console, I began to optimize each page for user search queries, such as avvino menu, avvino hours, avvino location, restaurants in Rochester NY, etc.
I tracked user behavior through Google Analytics to determine the paths that visitors took to the Menu and Reservations sections, and optimized the site accordingly in an effort to increase visits to the restaurant itself.
SOCIAL MEDIA OVERHAUL
AVVINO's brand image and voice was standardized across Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
Content was created in tandem with the rebranding, such as new business cards, photos of specialty menu items, as well as promotional posts.
Increasing Online Reservations
The new website and improved social media presence led to an increase in site traffic, which converted into dinner reservations.
Comparing against previous Yelp Reservations data, (as of writing this) online reservations have increased by about 10%.
